Street Love
Published by Wing November 28th, 2006 in Everything, PhotographyEver since I started this hobby of street photography, I’ve always wanted my own “love in the street” shot. My very own Kiss by the Hotel de Ville. However, I have also been hesitant in photographing people kissing. I’ve had chances, but I never raised the camera. I’ve always felt a little intrusive, until now.
OK, mine is not a kiss, and the setting isn’t quite Paris, but I made the photograph, and it feels like a milestone, like a held breath set free. It feels good. It feels nice. I’m enjoying my street photography again.

It is a lovely moment, caught well.
It’s nice - buzzy even - to be alert to these little intimate moments when they crop up in the unlikeliest of places.
PS I just bought a little book of Doisneau’s pics on Friday!! The Kiss is on the cover.

Lovely - I love seeing this kind of tender moment on the streets, regardless of the gender of the participants
It’s a reminder of how good it is to be human, sometimes.
“I’m enjoying my street photography again.”
I’m very glad to hear that. I’ve been enjoying your last posts on flickr. Keep shooting please!
