Good Deed Of The Day
Published by Wing August 20th, 2006 in EverythingTonight I walked pass a group of rather merry people chatting outside a house on my street when I heard a voice said, “Hey mate!”. I turned around and was greeted by a dude with a raised hand. “You want a high five?”, I asked. He nodded, and I high fived him. “Do you want my beer mate?”, he offered, with mumble that suggested he had had enough to drink. “I’ve had enough to drink tonight.”, I politely turned him down, not knowing if he has relieved himself into the stubby or not, but thought I’d play it safe. Anyway, I didn’t really feel like drinking out of some stranger’s stubby. “Yeah, me too.”, he replied, “I don’t think I can finish this.”. “You can do it mate! You can do it!”, I assured him in my best Anthony Robbins impression. With that little confidence boost, he raised his high five hand in the air and proceeded to down the rest of his stubby. So with the proud feeling that I had just helped somebody exceed what he believed was the best of his ability, I walked on home.
