Pistachio
Published by Wing April 23rd, 2005 in EverythingYou know when you eat a bag of pistachios, and you pick one up that’s rather closed up and hard to get to? Do you make an effort to open it then? Or do you throw it back and wait till later, only to be left with a bunch of closed nuts to crack when you’re near the end of the bag?
I’m a thrower. It’s a bit of work later (like now), but I don’t mind. Some nuts are worth the effort.

Neither. First I try to prise it open with my fingernails antil the nailbed starts to hurt. Then I give up and suck on the nut until I’ve got all the nutty-salt off it. And then I spit it into the bin.
