Recurring Dream - Road to Nowhere
Published by Wing March 14th, 2005 in Everything, DreamsLast night I had four dreams, one of which was a recurring one. It is one where I am in a hurry to get some place. I find myself running through the streets. I would run through places that seem familiar to me, which leads me to think I’m finding my way. However, with each turn more familiar places appear, but I don’t feel like I’m any closer to the destination. So I keep running, and running, turning corner after corner, taking short cuts after short cuts, and never get any closer.
This one has been around for a couple of years. This is about the tenth episode. One of the episode I tried to find the hotel I was staying in. Another time I was trying to find the room in the hotel I was staying in. Another time I’d be looking for a bus stop for a particular bus, which was supposed to take me some place. This time I had no idea where I was trying to get to, although in my journey I did end up entering a cinema through a side door, only to find a few of my friends sitting there waiting for me, and waiting for the movie to start. I hung around to be polite for a little while, and then I left and off I went running again.
If there was a common thing to these dreams, it would be a feeling of frustration, along with feeling homeless and lost, but at the same time still feeling hopeful that I will eventually get to “that place”, while never getting there.
Perhaps these dreams will stop once I get there? Or perhaps they’ll stop if I no longer want to get there? Or perhaps it’s got nothing to do with getting anywhere? Hmm…
